A new Fitness Suite at St Joseph’s College has revolutionised the way in which the school aims to develop student athletes and complements the highly successful BTEC Sport & Exercise Science, Personal Training and Strength and Conditioning courses offered.
The facility cost in the region of £100,000, including renovations to the building and renewal of all equipment. The impressive studio houses a free weights area, heavy weights machines, cardio equipment, treadmills, Wattbikes, cross trainers, rowing machines and an interval training track.
As smart as any private gym, the 216 square metre suite incorporates St Joseph’s eye-catching branding and a fabulous sound system…plus those all-important floor to ceiling mirrors!
Mrs Danielle Clarke, Principal of St Joseph’s College, said, ‘This impressive facility will further enhance the College’s reputation as an elite sporting pathway, but will also be in general use, encouraging our younger boys and girls to embrace a healthy lifestyle. This is also an attractive facility for the College’s staff.’
In addition to this capital investment in refurbishment and equipment, the College has further solidified its commitment to sporting excellence by way of appointing Mr Sam Power, Head of Strength and Conditioning and manager of St Joseph’s College sports teams.
