Saturday Open Mornings

Whole School Open Morning – Saturday 1 March

This is an exciting time to join St Jo’s because we have a strong and clear vision of what we want our school to be. And we want to attract students who can match our ambitions on the pitch, in the classroom and on the stage.

During one of our Saturday Open Mornings, you will have a guided tour of the campus with time to meet our students and teachers and find out more about life at St Jo’s, including curriculum, extra-curricular and what it is that makes everyone comment on our wonderful community. Following this, a member of our Senior Leadership Team will be delighted to meet with you and answer any questions you may have.

Held on normal working days, visitors get to hear from the Principal and meet the Admissions Team. It’s a chance to see the school’s facilities, observe the students, and get a feel for the school’s atmosphere. The Admissions Team is on hand to answer any questions and provide further information about the school’s curriculum, facilities, and pastoral care. Join the community at
St Joseph’s College

The College caters for children from 2-19 years of age with pupils moving seamlessly from Nursery to the Prep School, from Prep to Senior, and from Senior to Sixth Form. Applications for each area of the school follow a similar process.

For all areas of the College, the first step is to complete the Registration Form and return it, together with the relevant Registration Fee (£75 for Day / £100 for Boarding) and copies of your child’s last two school reports (not required for nursery applications).

Children are able to start at our nursery on, or directly after their 2nd birthday. Once registered for a place, your child will be invited to attend for two taster sessions so you and we can be sure they are happy and settled before accepting their place.

Discover Nursery

Following an application and for those applying to Reception – Year 2, a Taster Day will be arranged.

For those children applying for Years 3 – 6, they will be asked to complete online entrance assessments in English and Mathematics. A reference from your child’s current school will be sought and a Taster Day can be arranged so your son or daughter can experience the Prep School and realise how quickly they feel at home.

The College’s Admissions date for 2024 entry may be here (link to section below). However, it is possible to apply for a place outside of these dates, subject to space.

All applicants are asked to sit a Cognitive Ability Test (CAT) for which no practice or preparation is required. Students will have an interview with the College’s Principal and a reference will be sought from their current school.

FAQs

Here you will find answers to some of the commonly asked questions about St Joseph’s College admissions. Feel free to browse through the questions to learn more.

Can I move my child to St Joseph’s mid-year?

Yes. Please contact us to talk through options as soon as you can. We’re always happy to help.

My child has a learning support diagnosis. Can St Joseph’s accommodate this?

We would recommend an individually tailored approach. Please contact Admissions to discuss the way forward. We will put you in touch with the Learning Support team to discuss your child’s specific needs and family situation.

I may need help with the fees. Is help available?

Our Admissions team are skilled at answering these enquiries. An open conversation is always welcome and as relevant, means-tested bursaries can be applied for.

Can my child have a Taster Day?

Yes, of course! We do ask that an application has been received and their entrance assessment completed so that we can tailor the day with appropriate sets and subjects.

My child needs transport. Are there spaces?

St Joseph’s transport is available once the child is old enough to operate their own seat belt. Students are welcome to travel on one of our St Jo’s minibuses for which additional fees will apply, apart from if your child is using our complimentary bus shuttle service to and from the train station.
