Ipswich Town FC U18 Academy Scholars joined St Joseph’s College this week as part of a new partnership between the two leading organisations. The young Blues will be educated at the school on day release, receiving a tailored Sixth Form educational programme through their scholarship at the club.
With an outstanding sports provision already in place, St Joseph’s College is expanding its sporting provision and cementing its position as a leading player in the independent school market. As part of a global sporting campaign, the collaboration with ITFC will see the two respected organisations continue to strengthen Suffolk’s reputation for sporting excellence.
ITFC Academy Manager, Mr Lee O’Neill said: ‘We are delighted to be working with St Joseph’s College through the League Football Education Programme, to provide our scholars with a fantastic learning environment, both on and off the pitch. St Joseph’s has a proven track record for educating and developing elite athletes and we feel its ability to offer a range of academic provision strengthens young players’ options throughout their football journey.’
St Joseph’s Director of Sport, Mr O’Riordan, added: ‘We are extremely pleased to be working collaboratively with Ipswich Town Football Club and their U18 scholars as part of the school’s wider sporting vision. This innovative regional football focus leads the way within the independent school sector and reinforces the rich, holistic sports offering to our girls and boys as a whole.’
